Another Sleepless Night

I spent hours going over job posts today. Hoping to get an interview. I figured, it would be better working three to four jobs all at once than sticking to just one. You never know what might happen. You could get sacked or just lose the contract for no reason. Terrible, terrible thing to happen. At such a bad time too. We just moved to Granada, got a new Internet connection, paid the rent. What little I've saved I already spent it all. Then my mom keeps calling about the hospital bills. Still, I am thankful that there's Ken. He's a lifesaver. I still have a job but I know it's not long term. I have to keep looking. It's already half past four in the morning and I am still looking. I really just can't get myself to sleep. Not with this in my head.

  1. Hey Gen,

Don't think about everything that could go wrong without also thinking about what could go right! Sounds like your company has confidence in your writing. Really explore the possibility that they are right. Surely they anticipate there will be learning curve?

Still, I can't argue with making sure you have a Plan B. Just remember that with blogging, there can be a long time between working and actually cashing the first check. I'd do it, just balance it with the peace-of-mind of layered earning in the near term, too.

    good luck,
    Sean

  2. Thanks Sean. About the writing project, it just made me realized a few things, is all. I didn't want to stick around and just fuck up at work. I need to get myself sorted before trying again. I work for really great people. It would be unfair having them pay me for sloppy write-ups.
